Fahrenheit88 unveiled ‘Warisan Merdeka’, its Merdeka celebrations inspired by Malaysian singer and songwriter, the late Dato’ Sudirman bin Haji Arshad. In partnership with Arkib Negara Malaysia, Fahrenheit88 is proud to present ‘Warisan Sudir: Tribute to Asia’s No.1 Entertainer’ at the Sudirman Gallery on Level 2. From now until 30 September 2022, shoppers and fans have the rare opportunity to browse through genuine Sudirman memorabilia, including his music album posters comics, performance costumes and other personal artifacts.

‘Warisan Merdeka’ was officially launched today by Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Pemangku Raja Pahang, Tengku Mahkota Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, accompanied by Dato’ Joyce Yap, Chief Executive Officer of Retail, Fahrenheit88 and representatives from Arkib Negara Malaysia.

Delivering a speech at the launch, Dato’ Joyce Yap said, “It is important to share Malaysia’s multi-ethnic culture to promote the message of peace and unity. This year, we found inspiration in legendary Malaysian hero – Sudirman, and we are proud and excited to share his legacy with all Malaysians. We are delighted to join hands once again with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Arkib Negara Malaysia, and thank them for their continued support. I have no doubt that Warisan Merdeka will also be a resounding success, drawing long-time fans, as well as a younger generation, to the timeless appeal of Sudirman here at Fahrenheit88.”

‘Warisan Merdeka’ is the second campaign presented by Fahrenheit88 in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Arkib Negara Malaysia. In April this year, ‘Raya Melodies’, in celebration of Hari Raya was inspired by the late Tan Sri P. Ramlee and late Puan Sri Saloma.
