This well loved and can’t-go-wrong dish is synonymous with auspicious qualities. It consists of seven symbolic shredded vegetables like leek, cucumber, papaya, white ginger, red ginger, carrot, radish and eight staple condiments such as ‘Pok chui’ crackers, peanuts, sesame seeds, sweet plum sauce, oil, pepper, five spiced powder and lime with a preferred choice of topping. The higher you toss the ingredients while shouting ‘’loh hey’’, the greater your fortunes will be for the coming year.
