BONIA LAUNCHES NEW CONCEPT STORE IN 1 UTAMA SHOPPING CENTRE

BONIA, the international lifestyle brand known to produce quality leather goods with strong workmanship since 1974, has launched its latest concept store in 1 Utama Shopping Centre. Located on the ground level of 1 Utama Shopping Centre, the 1,679sqft BONIA store launched on 15 November 2022, proudly unveiling the new store concept designed by multi award-winning international architecture and design firm Spacemen Studio.

The concept of the store follows a similar design DNA as the brand’s IOI City Mall, Phase 2 boutique, which infuses an organic design language of sinuous forms and tactile materiality, with a minimalist aesthetic that reflects BONIA’s design philosophy. The serene and calming interior features beige toned, undulating walls and ceiling clad in textured stucco that envelops the store and with soft ambient lighting flowing throughout. Designed to mimic nature and its organic environment, this creates a form of visual escapism through the world of BONIA for customers to experience whilst shopping.

At the heart of the space is a fluid form cascading from the ceiling to reveal a selection of ready-to-wear pieces embodying the sinuous design language of the store. A series of free-standing furniture and display units in matte peach tones welcome customers as they enter through the fluted façade shopfront in terracotta. Seamless glass shelves cantilevered from the curving walls display the brand’s latest bags and small accessories.

Plush terracotta carpeted floors highlight the transition into the secondary part of the store that houses the brand’s lifestyle collection. An amoeba shaped wall nook, rows of curving tiered shelving and an organic-shaped glass tables imbue the space with a sculptural sensibility while stainless steel mirror finished furniture and joinery detailing add sleek futuristic accents.

Punctuating the monotone colour palette are Norwegian pink marble counters carefully positioned to contrast the rest of the muted colour tones, adding a dash of femininity. Arches that form the timepiece display and personalization section are a nod to the brand’s origin story that traces back to the arcades and porticoes of Bologna, Italy.

The launch was attended by Datin Sri Linda Chen, Creative Marketing Director of BONIA, together with media, influencers and celebrities such as Ruhainies, Azrel Ismail, Nur Risteena, Isa Khan, Jaja Iliyes, Sera Melissa, May Ho, Crystal Swung, Nicole Lai and Alexis Sue Ann.

The store is located at Level G, Lot G-313, New Wing, 1 Utama Shopping Centre.
