In conjunction with International Women’s Day in the month of March 2020 and as part of the hotel’s support for VM2020 to market and promote the rich heritage of Malaysia; Dorsett Kuala Lumpur is partnering with iKARRTiNi to present a one-day only afternoon hi-tea charity fashion show with Ms World Malaysia 2019 Alexis Sue-Ann taking the lead on the catwalk.  Guest of Honour for the event is none other than the distinguished DYAM Raja Puan Muda Perak Tunku Soraya Halim.

The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 28th March 2020 at 3 pm at Alamanda Room @ Dorsett Kuala Lumpur, the official hotel for this charitable cause.  Invitation to the event is by donation of RM188 net per person and will feature the latest exquisite iKARRTiNi 2020 collection.   Kartini started her label, iKARRTiNi in 1990 which has since established itself as a fashion forward name in batik designs.  She has always believed that in order to stay relevant in the fashion industry, especially when working with traditional fabrics, one must design to suit the market.  In 2015, Kartini participated in Expo Milano and a year later, at the Rome Fashion Week.  She has also showcased her designs and collection at the Modest Fashion Show by Haute Arabia in London, 2014.  Karrtini also designed Alexis’ National Costume for the Ms World Finals 2019.  Here’s a peek into the world of Karrtini:  https://www.pinterest.com/ikarrtini/batik-ikarrtini-malaysia/

Part proceeds from the event will be channelled to Orphan Care Foundation, a transit home for abandoned babies, under privileged children and pregnant women.  Coming in to support the event with door gifts are L’Oreal Professionnel and L’Estetica Facial Bar; as well as BYCHIÈN, a makeup artist agency established in 2019.

Orphan Care Foundation is Ms World Malaysia 2019 Alexis Sue-Ann’s ‘Beauty with A Purpose’ advocacy for the recently concluded Ms World Finals 2019 which was held in London in December last year.  The project was picked as one of the TOP TEN ‘Beauty with A Purpose’ initiatives from all the projects submitted by the 120 Ms World participants.  OrphanCare’s mission is rooted in core values and principles. These fundamental values provide the purpose, perspective and motivation to transform lives and make a difference.  To find out more about OrphanCare, log on to:https://orphancare.org.my/
