Known as Khlong Mae Kha Village, the upcoming extension introduces 49 new guestrooms, including Pool Access Rooms, Club Rooms and Suites featuring private balconies, with selected residences offering outdoor hot tubs. Inspired by the historic Mae Kha Canal and designed by Architects 49 Limited, the new accommodation offers an elevated setting for the Club InterContinental experience.
Forming a tranquil cluster of three-storey houses, the new rooms blend urban ease with resort-style relaxation, reflecting the character of traditional Lanna wooden homes. Guests staying in this new wing enjoy full Club InterContinental privileges, including deluxe breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails.
Drawing on the vernacular of traditional Lanna wooden homes, the architecture pairs clean contemporary lines with floor‑to‑ceiling views. Ground-floor accommodations offer direct pool access, while upper-level residences feature private outdoor hot tubs and generous decks for a more elevated sense of outdoor living.
With reflections of water and sky turning the façade into a reflective ribbon, the Mae Kha Canal becomes both a visual and spiritual reference point. Inside, curated craftsmanship celebrates Lanna’s traditional arts, with Thailand’s signature Golden Chomphunut accents adding a warm, luminous glow to the interiors.
By completing the second phase, InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping further deepens its connection to Chiang Mai’s living heritage, blending local culture with contemporary luxury to create a distinctive new expression of Lanna living and elevated resort-style relaxation in the heart of the Old Town.
