Batik Boutique unveiled its Nuansa Raya 2026 Collection during a special launch event at its store in IOI Mall Putrajaya, bringing together media, invited guests, and community supporters to celebrate Malaysian craftsmanship while highlighting the brand’s mission of empowering artisans across the country.

More than a festive fashion launch, the event underscored Batik Boutique’s identity as an award-winning Malaysian social enterprise dedicated to creating sustainable livelihoods through traditional craft.

By working directly with artisan communities, particularly women from underserved backgrounds, the brand provides structured training, employment opportunities, and a reliable income while preserving the heritage of hand-painted batik.

Guests were given an exclusive preview of the Nuansa Raya 2026 Collection, which features two new batik designs inspired by Malaysian culture and tradition.

The Kuih Cara motif draws inspiration from the beloved traditional kuih, while the Songket design reinterprets the intricate elegance of Malaysia’s historic woven textile into contemporary batik artistry.

Kuih Cara Batik Design

Inspired by ‘kuih cara berlauk’ and ‘kuih cara manis.’ Larger, rounded motifs reflect the savory kuih, while smaller floral motifs symbolize its delicate sweet counterpart, coming together in a nostalgic and sophisticated batik design.

Songket Batik Design

The Songket batik print pays homage to Malaysia’s rich textile heritage of batik and songket with a modern twist. Traditionally handwoven with gold or silver threads and

previously worn by royalty for ceremonial purposes, songket is derived from the Malay term ‘menyongsok or sungkit’, meaning ‘to hook’ or ‘to weave’.

Reimagined by Batik Boutique, this exclusive batik design blends the intricate elegance of songket motifs with contemporary batik artistry.

The collection offers coordinated Raya outfits for the entire family, including batik shirts for men, elegant silhouettes for women, and festive designs for children.

Designed with breathable fabrics and timeless styling, the pieces reflect Batik Boutique’s philosophy of combining cultural heritage with modern lifestyles.

Every garment is created using the traditional canting hand-painting technique, a meticulous process that celebrates slow fashion while ensuring artisans are fairly compensated for their craft.

Today, more than 400 artisans collaborate with Batik Boutique, gaining marketable skills and sustainable income through the enterprise’s inclusive production model.

“Our Raya launch is not just about introducing a new collection,” said Amy Blair, Founder of Batik Boutique.

“It is about celebrating the artisans who bring these pieces to life and demonstrating how fashion can create meaningful social impact while preserving Malaysia’s batik heritage.”

The Nuansa Raya Collection is now is available now, in our online store www.batikboutique.com and our four retail stores.
