Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), commenced flight services to Kota Bharu on 26 October 2025.
With the addition of Kota Bharu, Scoot now operates to 12 destinations across Malaysia including Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Kuantan, Langkawi, Malacca, Miri, Penang, Sibu and Subang.
Scoot will operate two times weekly flights between Kota Bharu and Singapore, on the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. Designed for added comfort, the 112-seater aircraft features a 2-2 single-class configuration, quieter engines, and larger cabin windows.
To commemorate this milestone, Tourism Malaysia and the local airport authorities hosted a welcome ceremony at Sultan Ismail Petra Airport. Customers arriving at Kota Bahru were treated to a cultural performance and presented with small gifts to celebrate the inaugural journey.

Chief Commercial Officer of Scoot, Calvin Chan said, “We are excited to launch flights to Kota Bharu, strengthening Scoot’s presence across Malaysia and enhancing regional connectivity.”
“For locals and residents on Malaysia’s east coast, this new route will provide more convenience to travel to Singapore and the rest of the SIA Group’s wider network. We will continue to collaborate with trade and tourism partners to drive inbound travel to Malaysia.”
One-way Economy Class fares from Kota Bharu to Singapore start from MYR125, inclusive of taxes, available for booking through Scoot’s website, mobile app and other authorised sales channels.
